Roman Tkachenko is an artist, independent architect and researcher. Born in Russia, he currently lives and works in Amsterdam. He has been investigating the political implications of built environments such as the design of public spaces, the architecture of public institutions, and domestic environments focusing on their vulnerabilities, misuses and il/legal redevelopments. His previous research has widened towards social movements that negotiate the built environment in order to defend their rights and establish forms of care for one's surroundings.
