Negotiation Plot is a video work recorded during a residency in Groningen, which explores
the power dynamics embedded in land ownership on a temporary broedplaats. By extracting a square meter of land from each plot, and donating it to a local organisation for homeless citizens — Roman encourages the established parties to rethink who they’re currently excluding in decision making processes for the area. Negotiation Plot questions the equation between political inclusion and land ownership and proposes to renegotiate the contract around who can participate in the imagination of the future city.
